Continual pop ups for non-existent malware file

AVAST File Shield keeps “saving me” from the same threat, every few minutes. I can’t get work done.
I have a Macbook Pro running Sonoma 14.6.1. I use a gmail server for my mail. It only happens when I open my Outlook which is set to automatically retrieve mail.
I have nothing in iCloud (I don’t use iCloud).
Attaching a screen shot of what I get. This last time I had 9 versions of the same threat, with slightly different #s before the .pdf extension.
HELP!?!

Hi, I recommend that you access your email via web browser (if possible), search for the problematic PDF and delete the email that contains this attachment. This will prevent Outlook from downloading the same email over again.
If you cannot access your email account in your web browser, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Disable Avast File Shield temporarily: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/use-mac-security/#idt_031
  2. Quit and reopen Outlook.
  3. Search for the detected PDF and delete the email that contains this attachment.
  4. Enable Avast File Shield again.

Thank you!
That’s what I tried yesterday, and it worked! Apparently, even though it was no longer visible in my web browser, every time Outlook went to retrieve new mail, AVAST saw the problematic email, sequestered it and notified me. I ended up looking through every single folder in the web browser and finally located it.

Good to know the expert said that was the right way to go. Thanks!

Thank you for your confirmation.
