Convinced I have a virus!

On Friday I posted with the title “Suspicious Activity on Outlook”. To make a long story short, everytime I open Outlook close to two thousand email start to download. This started on Friday (the 30th); it was preceded by an Avast warning which I ignored (unfortunately). I immediately closed Outlook and when I reopened Avast again detected a suspicious email and asked if I wanted to block; which I did but the 2K email still started to download.

Ever since Outlook starts to download 2K email everytime I open it… Avast has since detected nothing. On my previous post someone recommended I just let the email download… I just don’t think this is wise because I have checked email through the host (comcast.net) and there are only 4 new email in there since Friday so, for our account activity, 2k is really out of whack.

Suggestions please… I need to try to figure out a remedy.

Thanks,
Cyndi

You really should have kept this with your original topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=42193.0.

This keeps all information together and any responses. It also pops the topic to the top of the chronological list and makes it easier for anyone responding…

So sorry, in my mind my topic changed from thinking I have a virus to knowing I have a virus. Any idea why Avast isn’t picking it up? Should I uninstall Outlook and re-install.

Thanks!

That doesn’t change things it still relates to the same issue and ‘all’ info should be kept together as it makes it easier for anyone trying to help. Unfortunately I can’t as I don’t use MS Outlook (only express).

sounds like an email bomb here…
