We have two PCs using Avast Free.
Can I reduce download by copying updates from one PC to the other ?
If so, what is the procedure ?

I suggest not to do that, the updates might not be performed correctly.
Since the updates are differential (i.e. very small), the download size should not be significant.
If one of the computers is not connected to Internet, i.e., it is off-line, you can download and update it through here http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/vpsupd.exe
