Core Shields

I installed premium security on a new laptop with Win11. The installation is ok, but I can’t get the core shields to stay turned on. I don’t have the same problem on other devices.

How to fix it?

When you installed it and it was not activated, it should have already been activated but it was not.
Do the following: try restarting the computer and post the result.

No change, all core shields are off and firewall won’t even let me turn it on. Perhaps uninstall and reinstall from a download?

First, we need to know where you downloaded Avast from. It has to be from the official website.
Second, you need to see if you have any antivirus programs other than Avast. If you do, you need to remove them to see if that solves the problem.

I wen thru the uninstall repair scheme and nothing has changed. I open the interface, turn on the core shields and close and re-open the interface and all of the core shields are now off. The firewall button is unresponsive.

You have prints of what is happening because it is easier for other people to see with images.

Post a printout for us to see and explain the situation step by step of what is happening.

I tried the uninstall/repair thingy twice with no success. I think I acquired it initially by activate and install from my subscription page. So I just uninstalled it and re-installed from a download and it now seems to be working fine. BTW I’m a real rookie with Win11 so it would be a great chore for me to provide screenshots now.
