I have a multiple subscriptions for AVAST Security. I have added Avast Subscriptions over time since nearly every time I call for service I am giving a hard sell to buy more. As a result at different times I used different Credit card to pay for these services. Despite AVAST assurance, I was NOT contacted before an automatic renewal was processed. I call the Avast Customer Service number and asked for Help cancelling auto-renewals. They asked me for the credit card number used to cover this service. At first I could not discover which one I used but finally found a record with the credit card number used. I was told they NEEDED MY PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT information, including number to confirm my ID. I told the man answering that NO, he did not and I would NOT give that to him. HE HUNG UP ON ME!! When I called back I believe the same man answered, I requested his supervisor. I was told HE was the supervisor. I told him I knew there was a manager he answered to and I wanted to talk to that person. He put me on a what sounded like a fake hold with beeps. The “manager’ answered and I swear it sounded like the same man. HE TOO told me he needed my personal bank account information to access my account. When I got angry and told him to just cancel all my AVAST subscriptions, he snapped he would cancel all and hung up on me. Days later, my subscriptions are still active. I am still furious days later. I am contacting all my credit cards to remove AVAST as authorized to charge my account. When dealing with Avast I caution Consumers to BEWARE.
Which number? Where did you get the number from?
Are you certain you were actually talking to Avast before revealing your financial information? If not, contact your bank immediately, as what your describe does not sound right.
Note: I am not an Avast Team member, just another user.
