Ive never been to this website yet my name is being used on the dark web Can I delete the whole site
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
There isn’t much information to work with.
However, here is some general information as to how this can occur.
So How does your name, email, information get on the dark web
You don’t necessarily have to visit a particular website (which you shouldn’t post a direct link to as it would be likely to trigger an Avast Alert), the details can be harvested, sold, etc.
You would probably be hard pressed to do that even if you owned the website. Once harvested it as I mentioned these lists are frequently sold.
Thank you for your response to my is inquiry. Basically my info was breached while on vacation. I think wasn’t right away & there was another breach. A month ot two after yhe 2nd breach i started seeing emails coming in, Then there was the “surprise you’ve won" worse thing was i had entered onto that sweepstakes. Or i was searching for a loan & all these offers fir s loan were coming in. And I stupidly tr0lied to one asking all sorts of questions. And dince the name of the company was one i jae seen will work on loans I took it to be on the up & up. So after that experience & giving away all but my birth certificate. I stopped the cards hot new cards & was like a wolf watching sny business on those cards that were not me. Then searching the dark web I saw my name came up with info that was obtained from any source a breach a scam artist hacker any of the above. i realized it was not me who had visited the site. And changing my passwordI didn’t think that would work since I don’t know what was used to gain access I thought would be in effective being i never was on the site & if I was to asked for the password I was using before they let me change to a new password. So i thought maybe there is a way i could drop my info they had on me maybe that vould take my info out of the mix. I guess it doesn’t work that way. And even changing my password someone else could do the same thing i did kust opening access of my info again. Im starting to see now there is probably no way to keep info off those websites i hadn’t visited i.e hourzz before i dont even know what the do. So o font know i guess i will be plagued with this dark web invasion for as long as i have any kind of tech equipment. I was just trying to find a way to get that info & try to make it less accessible for them. I guess that could be something with the know how could come up with. And it wouldn’t be an antivirus just something that defended against the info on the dark web. Maybe taking their info & mixing it all up with fake Info or something like that. And if the info they wanted was that wanted it can be found. So nothing is sacred any more. And privacy exist only In our minds. Unless you know the way I can effectively turn the tables on those that use other’s onfo against them. Then I’ll just keep tabs on what is out there of mine exposed. These crooks only see money, once they have gotten a response to any email/scam your information becomes more valuable to them and they sell it on.
This basic Google search, gives an idea how difficult (and potentially costly) it is and there’s no telling if there would even be scammers listed in the hits.
