How can I temporarily suspend Avast Security on Windows 10, because sometimes Avast blocks Internet.
You can deactivate or disable Avast by turning off the shields. But this will render you unprotected and exposed to nasties.
Right click on tray icon.
Avast shields control
Disable permanantly
You can later re-enable shields to activate protection again the same way.
Is Avast blocking all internet or just a specific URL?
Are you using Firewall, if so what setting?
Temporarily suspending Avast impacts all of Avast all connections and not just the suspect site/s
Can you be more specific about “sometimes Avast blocks Internet.” The more detail you can give the better chance of getting to the bottom of the issue.
I lost connection to the internet. The IT person looked at it and concluded it was Avast Antivirus that blocked the internet. This doesn’t happen often, but sometimes when my internet is blocked I find an Avast screen underneath. When I deal with that,z my internet comes back. When the internet loses connection, I want an easy way to temporarily suspend Avast to see if that is the problem. Thanks for your help.
Not sure what Avast Program you are using, given your comment “The IT person looked at it” I suspect you are using Avast Premium or a Business product ?
So I’m not sure if the Avast Shields Control is an option in a business environment/product - but if so you can be a little more selective than disable permanently - I would suggest the 10 minutes. See Attached.
