Deep Screen and Hardened Mode

The Avast general settings page includes options for Deep Screen and Hardened Mode. Other than vague suggestions that they would keep me safer, it doesn’t really explain what they are or what they do.

What exactly do they do and when and why would someone want to use or not use them?

DeepScreen needs to improve alot still, hardened mode can block some legit apps sometimes.
