DO I have to do anything to Avast! Home Edition (like disabling it) before I do a Defrag?
You don’t need to do anything, resident shield will find out if drive was defregmenting.
i wouldn`t think so . i certainly never have nor have i heard anyone suggest disabling a/v .if you decide to anyway disconnect first ok

Not a trouble in defragmenting while avast is running.
You can use Speed Disk (Symantec), O&O Defrag, RejZoR’s application or Windows default one.
Ok, if you disable, probably you will do defragmentation faster 8)
