I have a single user on the system that has an issue with the Desktop locking up requiring logoff and logon to continue. There does not seem to be any pattern to this annoyance. Anyone had this problem? System is Windows XP Media Edition, SP3, Explorer 8.
What kind of computer ??? Any error messages or any clues in the logs ???
Perhaps you can that delete the user account and create a new one for the person. Remember to back up files though.
The computer is a gateway 2005. I do not see a clues in logs. As for deleting the user I would prefer not to do that unless that is the last resort. Thanks for the suggestons to date.
Try to pay attention as to what programs are running or have just been started when
the desktop freezes.
