Dilemma

I am looking at possibly dropping Comodo Internet Security Premium, and installing Avast Antivirus Free (v8) and Online Armor Free.

Prior to using CIS, I had tried to use OA and Avast together, BUT, apparently installing Avast FIRST caused issues with OA.

Am I correct in assuming that maybe I should have install ed OA FIRST?

PLEASE, any help here would be GREATLY appreciated.

I recommend avast + comodo firewall

@True Indian:
I had tried that also in the past, and the firewall had major issues with Avast 8 Free.
Also appears that if I remember right, have seen a LOT of complaints about them
NOT getting along with each other. I have my machine as witness to this.
It is why I eventually gave up and went with straight CIS.
And yes, I even had tried to get them to “ignore” one another, but still problems persisted.

I use Privatefirewall, and I was told by the developer of PFW to install the firewall 1st. The same likely holds true for OA.

What operating system are you running ???

I was using Private Firewall and avast free until the new beta (v2014 beta) was released.
PFW didn’t play well with the new beta. Uninstalled PFW then installed Comodo Firewall v5.12. So far so good.

For Comodo Firewall v5.12 http://filehippo.com/de/download_comodo/13662/
To install CFW see http://www.knightwithapc.com/2011/11/download-comodo-firewall/ :slight_smile:

@Bob3160
I am using MS Windows XP SP3 (and yes…FULLY patched). :slight_smile:

Interesting. I don't install security apps that are in beta. But if the final version conflicts with Privatefirewall I'll switch back to AVG.

So, if I should try this combo, I take it would be best if I installed Comodo Firewall FIRST?
I had the issues I mentioned when I had installed Avast first last time.

I just want the protection of Comodo’s FW, it to me is best, especially with the HIPS features.
