Disable Avast background services

I want to keep system drain from Avast at an absolute minimum. Basically, I would like to deactivate everything except the anti-theft functionality and only perform virus scans etc manually.
When I go into the App manager on my Samsung Galaxy S4 I can see that Avast Mobile Security currently has 1 active process and 6 active services. Can somebody explain to me what they do and how I could deactivate them if I don’t need them?

There is: NetworkStatsService, AppLockingService, WebShieldService, UpdateService, MessageScannerService and AccountReportService.

I deactivated automatic updates and I haven’t activated SMS scanning or web site protection and log file creation, so I am a bit confused why these services are active.

It would be easier and safer that you install AMS, install the AT part, uninstall AMS and keep only the AT.
But it’s my personal opinion…

Ok, I didn’t know that this works. Will I still be able to uninstall the AT at some point in the future if I uninstall AMS without removing AT first? Cause if I launch AT by dialling my security code in the phone app, I can’t see an option to uninstall there.

Still wondering what those services I listed are. I guess MessageScannerService is an SMS scanner? And WebShieldService probably scans websites for potential threats? So is it not possible to deactivate those?

If you’re root, you can use (flash) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27553331/root%20uninstall.zip

Cool, thanks!

You’re welcome.
