Cant find the solution
open avast > top right corner > settings
Very exiting and the rest of the solution, ive got to work tomorrow i have no time to use my time with stupid viruscheckers
Well… It was that stupid? A program that you can fully configurate and it’s for free?
No, you can’t fully configure it. Please don’t tell tales. At least you can’t configure the paid version and stop it’s spyware-like constant popups that your PAID version expires in so many days. As well support hasn’t responded on how to stop this either.
This is not true and this is only FUD.
avast! offers the paid version and is not spyware-like.
open avast > top right corner > settings > Updates > Details > uncheck “Show notification box after automatic update”
open avast > top right corner > settings > Popups > configure it like you want
open avast > top right corner > settings > Sounds > configurte it like you want. But you shouldn’t disable the notification of “Threat detected” and “Suspicious item detected”.

After reading several posts and not seeing the answer to your question, though it’s 7 months late, here is the TRUE answer…
- Go to settings in the top right corner.
- Go to the tool bar on the left side and click on “silent/gaming”
- Check the “silent/gaming” box.
- Ignore number 4
The responses to the original poster of this thread reference an old version of Avast. Avast 2014 (the latest version) has a completely different interface, and no longer gives users control over popups. For example, now every time you boot your computer, you get a popup about FaceBook. . . which I don’t use and don’t want. . . but there is no way to turn it (or any other popup) off. If I can find a place to download a 2013 version, I’m going to uninstall Avast 2014, put the previous version back, and disallow automatic program updates.
Same problem and it took me a long time to find the solution on the current version.
The problem is verbage
Settings//Silent-Gaming
Hope that this information is of value.
