so, I decided to disable the weekly scheduled full scan and lo and behold, for some reason it runs the scan anyways, despite me disabling the scheduling for it.
I had this scan set to run on mondays at 11pm.
in comparison, I have the smart scan set to run at the same time on sundays.
is there any particular reason avast would ignore me deactivating a scheduled scan setting?
ok, given its not a pressing problem, I’ll deal with it friday, before the next scheduled scan days, that way I’m not left sitting for a week wondering if the repair worked or not.
after the restart, I didnt get a notification or nothing on the repair being complete…so i am unsure if it completed or not.
edit:
ok, I did get a warning flagging windows defender as an incompatible product, recommending I uninstall it. but it gave me the option to restart to complete the repair.
…if I’d had the where with all to do so when it occurred. tell you what…if avast tries to run the full system scan next monday at 11pm, I’ll rerun the repair and see if I cant get that screen back.
I too would consider this unusual/strange, only those who actually installed windows defender can uninstall it. For those with windows 7 onwards they can only disable it and windows should disable it when avast is installed, weird.
I think it was the windows 10 creators update, thats knocked a fair few programs that previously worked without issue for a loop, in my case I had to reset a program I use when doing the internet radio dj thing, a few others I know, a british friend, ended up reinstalling starwars the old republic as a result of this update.
come to think of it…the windows 10 anniversary update did the exact same thing now that I think about it.
that said…the full scan has not run yet this week, that said, I’ll consider it resolved by the repair, this time next week if it has not run again without being commanded/instructed to.
