Disabling control anti-spam

Hi,
My provider operates an anti-spam control before sending messages on my mailbox.
Having thus in principle not need the additional control of Avast Security suite, I disabled this feature.

I note that the animation of the icon in the taskbar stops at this moment and that a fixed icon appears showing an exclamation point. I guess that’s normal and that the other functions of Avast remain active well.
I find this nevertheless a pity … an animation should persist (or a change in color would maybe be preferable to the current solution). ::slight_smile:

Hi jeannot,

There is a way to get the icon to ignore the change in the anti-spam, although not having used AIS, I don’t know whether it is there, but I would think it is.

Try:

Open avast! → settings → ‘status bar’ tab → Uncheck the shield → ok

This should stop the tray icon showing a yellow triangle when the shield is deactivated.

Scott

If you go to add remove program’s and click on avast then uninstall you will get a list of option’s, click on change and then you will get a list of all the shield’s, untick the one you dont want and then click ok or whatever it say’s down the bottom, once that has run then you wont have the antispam module installed, if you want it back you just run the procedure again.
Sorry SCOTT, try scott’s way first because it’s easyer, if that dont work you’ve got my option.

Thank you for your prompt replies.
I applied the first and it worked.
Merry Christmas !
