How many times are you allowed to change your display name?
Now you have access to your profile settings (>20 posts) it can be changed. Whilst I don’t believe there is a limit it I think it would be frowned upon if you were doing it frequently.
Mine hasn’t change in over 8 years, I just chose a good one to start with ;D

Yeah, I know what you mean about annoying the mods. Problem with me is I don’t like one name for too long. It’s some OCD habit or something.

It is more a thing if you constantly change your display name, the regular forum members won’t recognise the user and on some cases this has been done to obfuscate/confuse rather than a genuine need to change.
I’ve used the same username pretty much since I’ve had internet access, and use it pretty much everywhere “out here”. It’s pretty simple, Mike plus my last initial plus Cda for Canada. In places where I’ve registered later on, I use a minor variation, “MikeB-Cda” … on some sites, particularly gaming, others seemed to feel the “BC” part of my username meant I was in British Columbia, so I added the hyphen to split the letters. But I didn’t bother going back and changing it at sites where I used the old name, to avoid identity confusion.
The only place where my ID is significantly different is, naturally enough, at Yahoo – mikeb45_28. I tried every possible minor variation of my usual one there, and found each one was already spoken for, so I finally gave up and used the one they suggested.
I believe and I think most of us who help or participate in diferent forums around the web will want to stablish some kind of trust. Is it not the way it works when you look for a doctor, lawyer or even a mechanic for your car ? If you change names or even avatars, no one will recognize you.

I suppose if I changed it to something similar, it would be okay. I could also have the same signature. I just like the option I’m not saying I’m going to be changing it 100 different times, I was just wondering what the limit was if there was one.
I changed mine just because i realized i had spelled the account name the wrong way by accident.
@ swrain leave it as is. It works. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Your screen name ain’t broke. Actually it’s kind of cool. 8)
Thanks! I just like to have the option. I didn’t plan on changing it anytime soon.
I wouldn’t change it at all. If a user changes their screen name all it creates is confusion for all the obvious reasons. 
Changing your user name is like being born all over again.
I like what I’ve accomplished and wouldn’t want to start all over again.
