Avast 4.8 has found a trojan virus in dmloader32.dll in my PC. I try to delete or move to chest and the same message pops up again. Any idea how to fix dmloader32.dll ???
What was the malware name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe - Or check the source file using notepad C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Warning.log
Deletion isn’t really a good first option (you have none left), ‘first do no harm’ don’t delete, send virus to the chest and investigate.
What was the error message that pops-up ?
If you have XP, vista32bit or Win2k, you could enable a boot time scan. Right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus, a memory scan will take place followed by the opening of the Simple User Interface, Menu, ‘Schedule boot-time scan…’ Or see http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php. Same drill though don’t delete, send to chest.
It looks like a good detection by avast, see http://www.threatexpert.com/files/dmloader32.dll.html.
Hi night-rider,
Here is the full description of what this malware does to the OS:

I did boot scan and found 2 more trojan viruses. Deleted 1 and moved the other to chest. The PC seems to work ok now.
Delete in haste, regret at leisure. I would suggest you ‘never’ delete as a first action but send to the chest, unless you are 100% certain (and that usually requires investigation first) or one day it could bite you in the rear.
