Yes, avast! can be integrated with Thunderbirt for e-mail scanning. It depends what Windows you use - if you are using NT based system (WinNT, Win2000, WinXP…) the e-mail scanning is transparent (automatic) and do not require any setup, if you are using older operating system, you’ll need to run the Mail Protection Wizard to configurate the mail scanning with Thunderbird :wink:

Please note that the Internet Mail provider doesn’t support SSL connections!

If you are using the Thunderbird Webmail extensions (or any other third party programs) to download Webmail (Hotmail, Yahoo etc) into Thunderbird then scanning of that mail by avast is not automatic.
