I have used the FREE CryptoPrevent to augment my Avast & MalwareBytes Pro real time protection.
v5.2.2 I was only one-time policy changer…seems v6.x now has real time ?
Has anyone used v6.x with Avast ?

Sure. Very good and useful tool. Just take care on initial whitelisting, i.e., make sure your computer is virus free.
You are using the new v6.x ?
Any issue/detects with his warning ? http://www.foolishit.com/vb6-projects/cryptoprevent/anti-virus-anti-malware-application-warning/
Had 6.01 installed since it came out. I received nothing from Avast but did receive a couple from malwarebytes. Just whitelist it and done deal
This past weekend I did my usual scan with MBAM Premium, and it flagged two registry entries related to the above, both as Broken-OpenCommand. I let MBAM quarantine them, and afterwards googled the warning to find there’s considerable differences of opinion on it. Some sites advise that unspecified malware can set it up as a backdoor, while others say it’s simply a Windows warning that file associations have been changed, and if there’s no other signs of infection then it’s harmless and can be ignored.
Interesting to learn that Crypto-Prevent was the probable source.
Yes, I’m on 6 and not a single issue with antimalware protection of avast!
