Don't want that Google Chrome advertising from Avast !

Hello,

I Don’t want that Google Chrome advertising from Avast that pops up regulary since a few weeks.

I myself decide which Web-browser I use. And I don’t need such pop-ups!

Please (re)search before posting.

What you can do is already many times explained.

1]
Disable the pop-ups (paid versions only)

2]
Set avast to silent-/gaming mode

You don’t say what avast version you have - the ads can be disabled in the paid versions of avast (as mentioned).

Or you can ignore them or Close them.

I must have a high tolerance level as they don’t bother me that much.

I use the free version.
And silent-/gaming mode?

Just out of interest I downloaded the eicar file and attempted to run it. With silent mode off, avast gives an alarm (threat
has been detected) and deletes it. With silent mode on, there is no alarm, but the file is still deleted. I assume this is
the way it’s meant to work.
You’re right “silent mode” should not be recommended without qualification.

doesn’t seem a mode for practical use, when Avast works without any messages. I need a normal program working; only advertising pop-ups are disturbing my work …

Not sure what this ‘work’ is that you speak of or would it qualify as ‘business’ in which case the Pro version you would be able to uncheck the ‘show popup offers for other avast products’

Something else you could possibly try the avast for Business (Cloud) which is free and I don’t know if that is served these ads.

I do my private work on my private computer - I don’t need the pro version.

And I see that there is no solution for unwanted advertising - nice game :frowning:

Yes there is a solution for the “unwanted advertising”.
Get a paid version.

Pro doesn’t mean it is meant for professionals, it just means it has (some) more options than the free version.
