Hi I just got the latest avast! program update (build 4.6.691 July 2005) and I now have 14 providers in the resident shield. However, they are all double… the only difference is that one has the old icon and the other a new design for the icon.
Is this normal? I have residence protection turned off at the moment because it interferes with my proxy server settings (university residence)
This is definately not normal.
Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
If that doesn’t work (download the latest avast version from avast.com) try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.
Double providers have already occured in the past.
Maybe you can search the board.
As far I could remember, it`s a problem of the storage method (ODBC and XML), but better is ask for official help of Alwil. Or easy way, try to uninstall and install again.
I only managed to resolve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling avast (as had been suggested)
