...\download-Red.htm -- Trojan?

During my latest scan I had an alert for a trojan on a file that has been through countless scans since 2007, when it seems the file was placed on my unit. I don’t remember why I downloaded that file, but a Google search indicates it’s related to some sort of file sharing program.

Search on this site of “\download-Red.htm” provides no hits.

Anybody have any experience with this situation?

Thank you.

What is the actual file name on your computer, including the path?

Well, let’s see how this looks.

0000000C 1185934144 download-Red.htm C:\Documents and Settings\PCUSER\My Documents HTML:RedirME-inf [Trj] Vir yes 1243637315 425 - 0000000D 1185934824 download.htm C:\Documents and Settings\PCUSER\My Documents HTML:RedirME-inf [Trj] Vir yes 1243637322

Sorry, just checking something. Info’s there, though.

So all the “original file names” are blank? Or is that how they actually appear? The only file name I could see there was “RedirME-inf”, for which there are only a few Google hits, and most of those in an Asian language.

Let me get rid of most of those tags.

<OrigFileName is “download-Red.htm”
<OrigFolder is “C:\Documents and Settings\PCUSER\My Documents”

HTML:RedirME-inf

Wow, the Google Bot works fast for this forum. It’s at the top of the list already.

Anyway, this is one hit I saw earlier.

I think I’m getting it. Some kind of graphic, like for flames.

Obviously, useless. Don’t need it anyway.

It just surprises me that it’s been there since August 8th, 2007 and Avast never worried about it before.
