Downloaded FREE Version, Upgraded. Is there a difference?

Ok, two questions:

I originally downloaded the free version to try it out and saw that it was $30 for the one year license. So considering avast gets some great reviews and seems a lot less intrusive than, say, Norton? - I decided why not upgrade? So I put in my license key and everything seems great! Now, upon reading the email I got after purchasing the license I noticed there was a link to download the full version, which is a ~90mb download compared to the ~60mb free download. Now, am I losing out on any features or anything by using the free version I downloaded with the license put in? Or should I uninstall the free version and download the setup file in the email?

Also, is there a way to buy additional licenses that I was offered when I made the purchase yesterday at the discounted price (I think $10 or something)? I thought the other computer in the house was protected but the Norton (gag) license is almost up.

I did do a search and couldn’t find the answers to my question. Idk, maybe I’m not such a good forum searcher

So far my experience with avast has been great, keep up the good work! I appreciate any help.

Thanks
-Jim

Hi if you insert the licence into the free version it will upgrade for you with just the bits required ;D

If you bought the three licence/computer pack then just install Avast on the other two systems and use the same licence key

No, you’re not missing anything, the additional stuff is downloaded when you insert the key (provided your computer is online, of course).

As for purchasing the other tools… I’m not sure myself. I’d suggest to send a question to sales@avast.com.

So the question arises that whats there in that extra 30Mb because I myself have tried upgrading from free without any internet and it upgrades easily without any internet connection ::slight_smile:

Are you sure nothing was downloaded?
Can you e.g. start the SafeZone? Does the SafeZone browser start there?

Ya i am 150% sure nothing is downloaded and safe Zone kind of thing also opened for me. I did it 5 days back on my pc but again returned to free version as I didn’t need it. Also sandbox was also there for me beneath the autosandbox…
Still wondering ???

The SafeZone browser certainly takes a big part of that 30MB difference… so if you have it on your machine, I’d say you have the rest as well
