This the 3rd time I’ve tried to post this message. I have been an Avast user for several years but when I tried to downlaod for my new laptop I get “avast_free_antivirus_setup(2).exe.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.” Any body got any solutions. Windows 7 OS.
what AV are you using on that computer?
have you uninstalled it?
Delete all copies you have downloaded and grab a new copy from here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=138753.0

I have been using Kapersky which I have uninstalled and re-downloaded the setup files. I now get “avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe is not a valid win32 file”
Help! I am having almost as many problems copying the verification codes.
After uninstalling KAV you’ll need to also run there removal tool http://support.kaspersky.com/common/service.aspx?el=1464 to delete remnants before installing avast.
