I just registered for Avast and tried to download the program. the address I went to is http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe. The message there is that I am not authorized to view this page. I have my license key, but I didn’t see anywhere to put it in to download the program; I think that is inserted after the download.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t think the message is “there” but at your place. My guess is that you are using Windows XP (correct me if not) and that the group/user settings prevent you from doing things or that your system is infected with one or more viruses.
btw, the key is not needed for downloading Avast, you insert it when it asks you for it.
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/ the scan doesn’t launch when I press the “scan my pc” button. I definitely have a virus. Do you think that’s affecting my ability to run the scan/download Avast’s AV software?
