Hi,
I get this error message when trying to use the Windows CD Burner, if I click on the CD icon in My Computer I get this error message, if I right click a file and go to send to then CD drive I get this error, I took off all of the Roxio software I had, and I uninstalled then reinstalled the Disk Drive using the Device Manager. I have looked on google and have failed in finding a solution, I really need help on this.

This is a common problem when removing any type of CD/DVD buring software. You need to remove the upper and lower filter values from the registry. A google search for “remove upper and lower filters” will find you several instructions. There is a microsoft knowledge base article about it too, so a search on Microsofts site might be the best move.

I ran the tool listed on the site but I am still having the same problem 
I really need to fix this any suggestions are appreciated.
Bit of a long shot but you could try putting Roxio back on your machine (it is very effective a finding and claiming full control of any optical drive on a machine) Then remove it again using the tool here.

I used this tool to remove the resource hogging, hardly functional Roxio Easy Media Creator from my system and it did do a clean uninstall.
