Easylifeapp

Hi there

I downloaded something from sendspace yesterday, but stupidly rushed through it and downloaded something else to go with it.

Now whenever I’m on the internet it loads with Easylifesearch which tries to look like google but I’m guessing its a type of malware.

I have uninstalled it from the control panel but it still appears when I load a page, any help would be appreciated!

sorry, I’m just going through the Logs to assist in cleaning malware thread, I’ll post my log in here if needed, thanks

Monitoring ;D

I'll post my log in here if needed, thanks
And when essexboy say monitoring....it means he is waiting for those logs ;)

Right gone through the thread and I’m still getting the problem :frowning:

I have print screened what it looks like when I go on the internet if it helps

Quick scan log attached, cheers

How is it behaving now ? You still need to reset chrome home and start page, do you know how to do that

It seems back to normal, I have reset chrome and as far as I can tell it is fine. Should I be wary of online banking and using passwords at the moment or is it not that serious?

No it is just an adware programme

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that
[*]Click Start.
[*]Open My Computer.
[*]Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.

My pleasure ;D

Hi there,
I had the same problem last week. The first thing I did was a restore, this pulled up two Sprotector.dll files that may or may not be deleted by the restore, which according to Google are the culprits. After the restart the problem was still there. Next I selected the oldest restore point and tried again, this worked, no more Easylife . ;D
