email attachment scanning?

I do not use the avast! email scanner because of conflicts with SSL/TLS receive and send. Not a big issue, since my ISP already does inbound and outbound virus scanning. Question, though: If I try to access an email attachment from an email client, does it get checked by the avast! on demand resident file scanner? Thanks; Ed.

Depending on your settings ofocurse.
But yes Avast is capable on scanning the attachments with its on-access scanner when you access them.

Avast on-access resident scanned will check the file if you try to open the email attachment. If you save the attachment to your HDD, it should also check it if your sensitivity is set to high (scan all created/modified files).

Not to mention common sense about opening attachments from unknown emails.

Thanks a lot; I thought so. But my ISP won’t let me test it because of their
own virus scanner, and I didn’t want to turn it off to see.
