Since the ‘Email Shield’ is non-functional in Web-based email, should the option be disabled, uninstalled, or can it stay enabled since it will not cause any computer/anti-virus performance issues?
Hi, if you never use Mail clients, you may want to uninstall MailShield completely (from Control Panel / Add-Remove programs / Avast Antivirus).
However, it does not do anything when not used, just sitting there for connections that never arrive.
-Thanks everyone for explaining how email attachment scanning works.
