Since the last update, in which i received the message that SSL connections can now be scanned, I have not been able to collect email without stopping the Mail Scanner. If the scanner is active my connections to email server either time out or are closed by the server. Spent hours trying to figure out what is wrong then finally saw message from avast that there were too many connections to servers, at that point I shut the Mail Scanner down and was able to collect and send email as normal. If I restart the scanner email stops.
Read thru http://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB91#artTitle. Hopefully, instructions there can be adapted by you to sort the issue.
Can you post the full text of the avast message, I suspect you mean “too many concurrent connections” and this should also give information on what processes are taking up what connection totals (helps determine the way forward) ?
If this is only related to maximum concurrent connection totals it may not have anything to do with the above avast article.
Thanks for the replies, I did not say I had problems with certificates so the link to that is not helpful. I cannot supply you with the error message as it was only when I hovered over the icon - no actual message was seen. It had the names of my email clients as the errors.
