gtv,
This can occur when the settings of your email client have changed.
Outlook is subject to this.
Look in the settings of OE and see if you have “Request authentication” checked. Uncheck it. You will find it under Account settings.
If you can’t find it, I will check my system when I get back later.
Normally, this takes care of the problem. If it persists, let me know.
techie
i think this is not the problem
what must i do now
gtvjr
im not 100 % sure in this, but with my own set of problems i was not able to send, ran wizard setup for email in avast and now it works…
Just my 2 cents…But wait for a higher up to tell you, unless you wanna give it a go…
Gerhardt,
I need to know if you have checked the settings in OE first.
Then, run the Mail Protection Wizard again to insure that the SMTP is set to 127.0.0.1
Since you can receive fine, then I do not believe it is within Avast itself. The only time I have seen this behavior is when the OE asks for authentication for each connect.
techie
Ihave checked the settings the are good
with the wizard the are good
this is hapens sind the upgrade
i cánt send any email with avastpro
and when i uninstall the program it is where fine what is now the problem with the previos versions there where no problems i don’t
understand
gerhard
gebhardt,
Ok. Settings good…Wizard good.
What email client are you using: that is Outlook Express, MS Exchange, Eudora, Pegasus???
Do you use a firewall?
When the email fails to send, what error messages do you receive?
Are you saying that Avast worked fine before the “present” update? I then need to know the present build of Avast that you have?
Go into the Help menu and look up manual configuration of Avast. It will guide you through the settings in the .ini file We need to make sure that they are ok there. This is what Avast uses.

The solution coms from the supprt site i must do this
Close Outlook Express.
2) Start Mail Protection Wizard and select "Automatically remove
protection from all my accounts.
3) In Outlook Expressu check the server addresses and user name.
4) Try to send and recieve message. It should work, but without
protection of avast!.
5) Close Outlook Express (very important!!!).
6) Start Mail Protection Wizard again.
7) Select “Set up the protection manually”.
8) Select “I don´t use MS Outlook…”
9) Follow the instructions.
10) At the end you can start Outlook Express again. The addresses of
POP and SMTP servers will be changed and your login name
modified, but it will work.
But this is only for incoming email outgoing can not scant
in the previous version it was possible
i have not a firewall(kan you give sugestion for a good firewall)
I have outlookexpress
i have no errr
he can not contact emailserver
for outgoingmail and when i uninstal there is no more any problem
is this maby a bug in the upgrade
Gerhard
can you ask avast look at it
Please try to send mail and after it look to the file “aswMaiSv.log” in “C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast4\DATA\log” folder and post the error message from there.
Good day
the problem is not any more it whas a problem in avast
