Empty Virus Chest of false positives??

As Essexboy reported Win32:malware-gen ( MiniToolBox–a great tool ) as an FP, I have tried to remove it and the other FP’s from my virus chest. Is it possible to just get rid of those items completely?
Yesterday I ran a boot scan to make sure my system was running well (after working with Lois over at BC); but scan stopped every time it came to one of the 10 FP’s in my virus chest. It made the scan much more time consuming; so…
Any one have a “valid” answer for me, I would appreciate it much.

From the virus chest right click and select delete

Question - Why would you want to ‘Empty Virus Chest of false positives’ ?

If you are considering deletion, why delete something that is confirmed as an FP ?
In this case surely you would want to Restore known FPs from the avast chest.

I don’t know how/why the scan can detect files in the avast chest from outside the avast chest. Files in the chest are A) encrypted, so shouldn’t exhibit the same virus signature and B) the file name is also changed.

If these files when scanned from within the chest are clean then restore is the option, but if these are still being detected and you are 100% sure they are FPs you really should report them to the avast virus lab. This could lead to changes to the virus signatures so they are no longer detected.

Thank you David!! I did delete one, and when I did my monthly boot scan it detected it as malware because I didn’t empty the recycle first. So I am just going to leave the items alone.

Have a nice day.
