I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCE A LOT OF DELAY’S WITHIN THE USAGE OF EACH COMPUTER, SOME USERS COMPLAIN OF DELAYS WHILE SURFING THE WEB AND OTHERS INCLUDING MYSELF EXPERIENCE LAG DURING OPERATIONS OF CERTAIN APPLICATIONS.

THE ISSUE IS THAT EVEN THOUGH I BELIEVE I’VE PLACED THESE SO CALLED ‘EXCLUSIONS’ FOR THESE APPLICATIONS, THEY ARE STILL BEING SCANNED, WEBSITE URL’S THAT I HAVE INCLUDED WITH THE EXCLUSIONS LISTS ARE STILL BEING SCANNED AND PERFORMANCE IS SLOWING DOWN.

I NEED TO HAVE SOME ANSWERS ABOUT WHAT I CAN DO TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE AND UTILIZE THE EXCLUSIONS LIST

SOMEONE WANT TO DISCUSS THEIR EXPERIENCES WITH EXCLUSIONS AND OTHER CHANGES TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE?

In regards applications, are you excluding specific files or entire folders?

If you are excluding a folder, you MUST put “*” onto the end or it wont work. For example, “C:\myfolder” won’t work, it must be “C:\myfolder*”.

Yes I am familiar with the wild cards - I believe these Wildcards “" "/” etc. do not function properly.

Here is my experience with URL wildcards in SBC.

This statement was from avast! tech support:

You can add a list of URLs to the Console this way:

Url1;Url2;Url3;so on…
Please not that the URL should contain “http://”

I deciphered this to mean:

“http://www.myspace.com;http://www.facebook.com;http://www.youtube.com”

however, when pushed to the client, this did not work. Also, this does not match the settings that work with avast! Pro, which is “facebook.com”

So I tried this: “myspace.com;facebook.com;youtube.com” to match what worked for avast! Pro. When inserted into SBC, this worked intermittantly, or not at all. Seams to change depending upon number of entries. This has got to be a BUG!

Since, http://www.facebook.com* works in avast! Pro, so I tried this:

“http://www.myspace.com*;http://www.facebook.com*;http://www.youtube.com*” THIS WORKED!
