Hi,
How can I choose the “Type of scan” in the “Enhanced User Interface” like I can do in the “Simple User Interface”?
Thanks
Hi,
How can I choose the “Type of scan” in the “Enhanced User Interface” like I can do in the “Simple User Interface”?
Thanks
Do you mean ‘archive scanning’?
I think they are at the ‘Packers’ page of the Task settings… :
No, about the Quick, Standard and Thorough scan…
I think the only possibility is on the Sensitivity page of the Task settings:
Test whole files. Specifies whether the whole files will be tested for virus presence, or only the parts most frequently affected by viruses. Most viruses either overwrite the file beginning, or they append to the file end. This choice will make avast! test the whole file. Naturally, it will slow down the scanning a bit.
Ignore virus targeting. Checking this option makes avast! test the files against all the viruses in its database. Without this option, the files are tested only against those viruses that affect given type of files. It means that avast! will not look for viruses infecting EXE files only in a file with COM extension.
You’re right… The specific option from the Home version is not present at the Professional :-\
Only the “Explorer extension” have the Sensitivity option available…
Maybe a bug…
Not really - just the predefined tasks are sort of “hardcoded”, so only some options can be changed for them (you should receive such warning when you try to modify a default task). Just create a copy of the task (e.g. Interactive selection), or create a new one - and you’ll have all the options available (sensitivity, packers, …).
Also, don’t forget to check the “Advanced configuration” checkbox.
Thanks igor for your clarification
This is one of more reasons that I wanted that avast! GUI should be improved…
