Last week I installed Avast One Family on my computer (Windows 11). I have an Epson XP-7100 printer-scanner connected on the same Ethernet network and the printer is working correctly. My Epson scanner is unable to detect my computer since I use Avast One. I didn’t had this problem with McAfee.
Thanks for the assistance.
does avast one have a firewall?
is firewall sett to trusted/private network?

My firewall is on and my network is thrusted.
The names can be different I use the French version of Windows and Avast.
But I finded a clue.
If I reinstall the Epson Event Manager, my scanner is able to detect my computer.
The Epson Event Manager icon is visible in the tray.
If I restart my computer the icon disapears. It was not the case with McAfee.
I took note that each time I restart or turn off my computer. I must reinstall Epson Event Manager.
I also have to reinstall BOINC (a science computing software).
I didn’t need to do that with McAfee.
Both are access to Internet in my firewall.
Why Avast remove those programs at startup ?
Thank you for the help.
After many tests I found this:
In Boost PC Optimisation
I removed Epson Event Manager and Epson Printer Connection Checker from the optimisation list.
Now my scanner can communicate with my computer again.
Thanks for the confirmation/clarification.
