Err:Your operating system does not meet the minimum requirements.

hey guys,

I have a windows 2000 server machine which I can not seem to install avast *PRO* version on. I assume you can not install the home version on a server product however I expected the pro version to install.

Thoughts anyone?

The install log is below…

The Pro/Home versions are virtually identical and the problem is that you are running a server OS and avast 4 (home or Pro) is a desktop solution. There is a server edition of avast and a forum dedicated to it http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=8.0.

This obviously doesn’t resolve your problem, you may need to switch to the server edition, unless someone knows differently.

Ahh… Thanks for your help!!! The ugly error message produced is way confusing!!! I’m not running NT and I thought maybe my registry got corrupted or something. If an advast programmer is reading then then can I suggest that message be a little more helpful saying something along the lines “This product can not be instaled on a server version of windows. Thea server product can be downloaded from here…”

I'm not running NT
Just for future reference. Win 2000 and XP are NT Based. ;D
