While doing a boot-time scan, I get the following message multiple times:
File C:.… Error 0xC0000022
The only files this has happened for have been in folders expanding off of the root C:\cygwin (i.e. have been C:\cygwin\something\something.…\somefile) but all it has scanned so far that I can tell (I haven’t been watching it the whole time but all it has been scanning when I happen to look at it) is in the cygwin root and my Documents and Settings root. I haven’t gotten any other errors besides this.
Does anyone know what this error number means, and what, if anything, I should do about/with the files its getting the error on? I searched the avast site and faqs for it but didn’t find anything. Consequently, if someone who works on the avast site happens to read this, you should put up a list of error numbers/messages and what exactly they mean. This would be helpful.
C0000022 means “access denied” - i.e. the scanning process doesn’t have rights to access the file.
Did you set any special access rights for any files? Can you post the exact full path of the affected file?
Thanks.
If you got problems with disk so you can always use those tools in the firstplace
“chkdsk C: /F /R”
or
chkdsk /f
and cacls (cmd line tool) or this http://www.nativecs.com/page.en.php?f=data/en/aclview.desc
(GUI) to change rights on files/folders
efter that try to avast again.
!!!Do not do system files visible and use scheduling scan on boot. It is best way to do complete scan!!!
