I have checked the forum, but i can’t find an answer to why i have this error (Error 10049) coming up every time my computer starts up.
My operating system is XP Home SP2 (with all the latest updates)
Avast version is - 4.7 Home Edition - Oct2006 (4.7.892)
Extreme Toolkit version - 1.9.4.0
VPS Database - Date - 29/09/2006 - File Version - 0639-4
Internet Mail version - 4.7.892
I don’t know if this is a windows or avast error, can you give the full text of the error ?
There is no 10049 error in the List of avast! Error Codes.
If it is a windows error 10049 = 'The requested address is not valid in its context. ’ Not a very helpful description as it could relate to anything (avast or otherwise) and without more information we would be guessing.
Allied with the images it could be that there is some other application that is also monitoring email, I’ve seen something like this before in the forums and a search for error 10049 returns some hits.
I tried the 9th message down in that posts recommendations.
That is to delete all of the Avast settings in Comodo, and then re-allow them from the pop up’s.
I then did a restart, and i allowed Avast in Comodo, and the Error 10049 screens have stopped.
But i am not sure if Avast is checking my e-mail’s, as i don’t know how to test it?
if avast is scanning your emails you will see in the Internet Mail provider the subject line of the last mail scanned and the count of scanned messages increasing as you receive your email.
