Error 42100...why??

While rebooting the system I have got this error as in object…for all file I have on the pc.
I have read that I should erase the flag in boot ini The problem will be solved by the next program update, but in the meantime, a work around is to remove the /NOEXECUTE flag from c:\boot.ini…

This will turn off the new DEP (Data Execution Prevention) feature of SP2 (that only works on 64bit processors) but will effectively enable avast.

But this was told in 2004 by Vlk at this adress: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=7014.msg55365#msg55365

So right now what can we do it???

This is my pc…all new:

Need your help…ahhh…I was forgotting another questio:
If I try to connect to play Unreal Tournement on line I must switch off the avast antivirus. Is any other possibilty to play while the antivirus is running?

Thank

Pap

Are you sure the error appears for all files, or only for some of them? (normally, correctly tested files are not shown).
Does it happen every time you run a boot-time scan?

Why do you have to switch off avast! when playing online?

Yes, sure and more over it doesn’t scan all pc, but it stops after scanning without any message, is it possible?

Why do you have to switch off avast! when playing online?
Because if I am trying to play Unreal Tourment online my connections is refused and I must to switch off the avast if I want to play.

Can u help me???

Thank.

Papp

Can anyone help me with it ?

Normally, when the boot-time scanner is finished, it displays something like “Scan finished, continuing with boot” and it resumes booting (without asking for a key, for example).

Check the file \Data\Log\aswBoot.log, please - can you post the last page, for example?
