I tried manual update from today at

try doing a repair via control panel.
control panel
add and remove programs
select avast
select uninstall/change
in the setup screen,scroll down and select repair
then reboot and try updating again.
For a couple of days we have seen reports about the full VPS (for off-line updates) failing. I have not yet come across some official response or comment. It may take some days for Avast Software to resolve whatever the problem is.
BTW, the current stable version of avast Free/Pro/IS is 6.0.1367.
I’ll try the updater personally and check what I get.

Avast has already confirmed that there is a problem and it’s being worked on.

Once the fix is in, I’m sure we’ll all know about it.
Till then there isn’t anything any of us can do to make it work.
Find a place with internet access and update the usual automatic way.
If your system is clean and you’re not on-line, you should be OK.
For those following this topic, Avast Team has announced that the full VPS for offline updates is working correctly again.
