After a boot-time scan was finished, I received the following error message:
Interactive log on process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details.
Can someone please tell me where the event log is?
The reason why I ran the boot-time scan is because I clicked on a link from a google search result. I was redirected to hxxp://antispyware-for-all.com/promo3/?aid=1504 As soon as I was on the page, the virus warning window popped up. Whenever that happens in the past, I always click on abort the connection right away. This time I didn’t because I wanted to write everything down, the link and name of Trojan (JS.fakeAV-K [trojan]). It took me a few minutes before I clicked on abort the connection. Since it was a few minutes, I wanted to be on the safe side.
Before I did the boot-time scan, I ran SAS, and it didn’t find anything. Neither did the boot-time scan. After reading some past messages here, I realize I should’ve done a regular scan first. I did do a standard scan, and it didn’t find anything either.
In the past, when I’ve had problems and told by someone here to run a boot-time scan, I haven’t been able to. It would turn off my computer before it was completed. For some reason, it didn’t do it this time. However, after I clicked ok after the error message, it either couldn’t restart normally so went into sleep mode or automatically went into sleep mode. When I hit my mouse for it to come out of sleep mode, my computer restarted, but the monitor was black with pink, blue, and green lines on the bottom. So, I held down the off button on my computer until it restarted.
I apologize for this being so long. I just want to make sure the Trojan didn’t load on my computer since I didn’t click on abort the connection right away.
