I am using Avast 5.0.677 on a Windows XP sp. 3 computer. My e-mail client is Thunderbird 3.1.4. I have set Avast to move infected e-mail to the virus chest, and if that is not possible to delete the file.
Lately I have received a lot of infected attachments. Avast is not able to move the files to the virus chest. I can see in the following in the Mail Shield log:
Error occurred when moving the file to quarantine: The specified file was not found
File was deleted successfully...

Is this a known problem or is there something wrong with my Avast settings?
Well, the mail shields’s expert settings should cover what actions to take, and in what order. i.e.> Action A, if that fails, Action B, if that fails, Action C.
I am aware of that. My settings are: A) Move to Virus chest. B)Delete.
I don’t understand why Avast is able to delete the file but not able to move it to the virus chest.
It would depend on the file size, if it had a large attachment, etc. then it would exceed the maximum file size to send. See AvastUI, Settings, Virus Chest.
