Hello All. I have my avast! set to automatic update and about half and hour ago I received a red pop-up screen that stated there was an error in updating.
I proceeded into my administrator account and tried to update from there, but instead the âdownload packagesâ page freezes.
Can anyone shed any light?

Could be this by a lot of reasons: server down, your ISP problem, Internet trafficâŚ
Can you check if your firewall settings (if any) were ok?
Can you try manual update right now? Does it work?

i was just going to post the same message.i`m having the same problem. when i try to update âavastâ, i get a message saying an error has occured in port 80. i recently had a firewall installed,but it seems ok. AVAST is allowed access.
What processes exactly are allowed access?
I contacted the tech support and they e mailed me with instructions AND IT WORKED1 DICK. ;D
