Error when sending infected file!

Hello.

I’ve got a virus. I send the infected file in the Quarantine. But when i try to send an email to alwil with the “Send an email to Alwil” function in the quarantine, i’ve got an error (error in a screenshot).
I use the new bêta version of avast!.

My smtp settings seems to be correct: I use AOL : this is my settings:
Server adress : smtp.fr.aol.com
Port: 25 or 587, error still exists.
From: Jojodearaujo@aol.com ← What is this line…
Username: Jojodearaujo
Password: *******

What can I do?
Thanks…
There is a screenshot.

This was complained before and still not solved :stuck_out_tongue:
Why?

Jojo, maybe you can add ashChest.exe to the Ignore list of Mail Scanner.
Click ‘Settings’ in my signature and browse for the [MailScanner] section.

I’m a bit lost…

What line in avast4.ini should I edit to add ashChest.exe in exclusion list of Mail Scanner?
Is it the line IgnoreProcess?

Yes, can you try… maybe you have to boot after doing the change and before testing…

I don’t believe it is related to the mailscanner.

When you try to send something to avast from the virus chest or to report a problem, etc. I think that default protocol to use is MAPI if you change that to SMTP then it may fail. This has happened a number of times, when I change the protocol back to MAPI and click send it works fine.

This assumes as you have said your smtp account details are correct in avast4.ini

The “What is this line,” is what will be given as the from address of the email that is sent to avast. This relates to your default smtp account in your email program.

THANK YOU!!!
For the first time since i have avast!, i have the message “Your message was send successfully” !!! :stuck_out_tongue:
The function now works fine thaks…

No problem.
I just wonder why it won’t work using the SMTP protocol but only MAPI why give a choice. Perhaps the Alwil team can check this out.
