Error while installing Avast Business

Hello,

I’m trying to install Avast Business by “AVAST_Business_Agent_setup_online.exe” downloaded today.
I got an error message while installing “we are sorry but the installer must be run at high integrity level”.
In the end it says, “Installation Completed With Errors”.

Haven’t seen this after installing Avast business in dozens on different machines!

After restarting Avast Business seems to be installed but the firewall is deactivated.

OS: (still) Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

Any suggestions?

(sorry for/if any mistakes, I am german)

First, try unblocking the “AVAST_Business_Agent_setup_online.exe” by right-clicking on the file, click the Unblock button, and then click the Apply/OK buttons below. Please see https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/delay/p/unblockingdownloadedfile/ for more information.

If that didn’t work, try right-clicking on the “AVAST_Business_Agent_setup_online.exe” file again and click Run as administrator in the pop-up menu.

If you continue to experience issues, please create a case at https://www.avast.com/business-support-contact

Thanks! I did not get the error message after unblocking and running the file as administrator, but the firewall still turned off.

When I click on “TURN ON”, it says: “Unable to start Firewall”.

Did you have another antivirus installed previously, even older Avast versions? If so, you may need to perform a thorough uninstall…

[ol]- If using an Avast management console, uninstall the device within the management console first before continuing

  • If applicable, uninstall Avast in Windows Control Panel

  • Download/save/run the Avast Clear Uninstall Utility at https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

  • When prompted, click the Yes button twice to immediately restart in Windows Safe Mode

  • After the Avast Clear Uninstall Tool has completed, click the Restart later button

  • Delete all Avast folders in these locations:

  • C:\Program Files

  • C:\Program Files\Common Files

  • C:\Program Files (x86)

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files

  • C:\ProgramData (hidden folder)

  • If applicable, restart back into Windows Normal Mode

  • Download/save/run the latest/newest Avast installer
    [/ol]

I finally uninstalled Avast Business, restarted, then found that Avast (free) was still installed - the Avast Business install did not remove it even though it completed normally.

I was able to uninstall Avast (free), restarted.

Downloaded the Avast Business installer for the third time in case it was defective.

Ran the Avast Business installer, restarted.

Now it shows up properly in the device list. It only took 3 hours to figure it out.
