I would say that is almost impossible to answer yes (and not just for Avast), as you don’t know what will come out tomorrow.
That is where other methods are used to develop methods to detect unknown, suspicious, activity (such as the Behaviour Shield) activity in areas that it shouldn’t be done.
However users should also take steps to help themselves. Like doing regular system backups, to an off line device (external hard drive/SSD) so in the event of a problem you should be able to recover to a time before the problem. Be that malware of a general system problem.
