Very interesting read, thanks Red.
I also think MS is heading in the wrong direction.
Cheers,
Asyn
Definitely. Im already thinking of stepping away from MS
Hey Rednose,
Thanks for the read. I think we can all agree that after Windows 7 Microsoft started pushing its products more than ever before.

Hi Asyn,
See how the Mega Big are protecting their monopolistic strangle-hold on the market.
Slowly working towards a Commercial Fourth Reich platform.
No room for innovation, more of the same money-grabbing data-slurping, ad-launching
… not very good and not extremely bad mediocracy.
Great times for conformists.
Not good for end-user protection, but… it never has been a better time for the stakeholders.
Give you the sad feeling there will never be better times ahead for the individual and the creative.
No nice digital vibrations hanging in the air alas.
Rather working like one big jamming device…

Windows 10 is a brilliant system imo, I guess Kaspersky is feeling the pinch in the drop of their market share due to Windows providing adequate base protection
Wasn’t it Kaspersky that was scrambling years ago telling everyone that free AV’s were not good enough to protect you :
W10 a brilliant system?
It could have been if it wasn’t for the fact that it has a huge amount of bugs/problems.
I’ve got Win10 on 5 systems here and a bunch of others for family and friends and I can say there isn’t a bug or problem on any of them
The bugs are there, you just haven’t experienced one (yet).
Nope, haven’t experienced any in at least the last year or more though I’m rather proficient in making sure the systems are running the latest drivers for all hardware and I don’t use outdated software.
Well said Damian.
Russia Starts Microsoft Antivirus Investigation After Kaspersky Complaint
Hi abruptum,
Their ‘omnipotence’ just seems a bridge too far now.
You cannot rule the world forever and a day,
as many institutions have found out earlier in history.
But actually I am longing back to the days that Microsoft still was a great program,
and it had it’s full Dos-support
and you could open up the command prompt and tweak it to your likings.
Bad thing youngsters have no reminiscence of that,
so they won’t know what they are missing.
It has become so much harder now for ordinairy people.
So much more came hard-coded into the OS.
Yes complete other times then when I was Microsoft trained on NT4 and the kernel.

Sorry Damien, but as far as I’m concerned Windows is still a great OS.
It’s also still used by more people than any other.
Right now there is a problem with the last insider preview builds and any one using a third party AV.
I’m sure that will get resolved. Hopefully soon.

PS: Would be interesting to get a statement from Avast…!!
It would be since they are as affected as the rest of the AV’s
Right now the only way to use the current Preview Release Builds is to totally remove Avast.
FYI, Avast has been quite involved in this case also, although we don’t have any public statements to be made right now and we don’t necessarily agree with the tone of Eugene’s original blog post.
But we do think that the proposed changes in the next version of Windows 10 are against customer’s interests, and pose a danger of decreasing the overall security situation of the Windows ecosystem as a whole.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback Ondrej,
Can you go into more detail regarding the planned changes and how they effect the overall security ???
