Can you live without Google?
ITWorld’s Tom Henderson tried to find out: http://www.itworld.com/software/350485/my-divorce-google-one-year-later
Alternative searchengines: https://www.duckduckgo.com/ & https://ixquick.com/
Some older Alternatives:

Northern Light http://northernlight.com/
Dog Pile http://www.dogpile.com
Metacrawler http://www.metacrawler.com

Inside Firefox we have: http://www.googlesharing.net/ to help shatter the google data clustering
Webmail alternative: http://www.hushmail.com/
Chat alternative with http://jabber.org/
Alernative for Google Analytics is Piwik (http://piwik.org/)
Maps alternative: http://openstreetmap.org

Google Analytics alternative: webalizer (http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/)

So some Life without Google is throughout possible,

Use NoScript, RequestPolicy, ABP and GoogleAlarm extensions,

If you cannot go without google search results: https://startpage.com/

But in all honesty. I do not think we can get around Google now, even if we would try.
And without Google where would we be with malicious website analysis,
at least polonus could not do without the Google search results…
And why should we?
Just be aware of your clicks on the interwebs and social sites,
know you always leave behind traces.

So what you would not do off line, do not do that on line too,
is a sound advice to all of you,
well at least to keep some Google devils at bay…

I prefer using Yahoo. really…
