Exception in Port 80

Hi, As there isn’t a post here about it already, I’m probably just being stupid, but…

I have installed google earth, I can’t connect to the servers.
I am 99.9% certian I just need to create an exception in the Web Shield beside “Ignored Address” but what exactly do I need to type.

Win XP
IE6
Avast4.7 home
and the dreaded Zonealarm.

Cheers a lot!

You don’t have to add Google Earth or any other site to WebShield exceptions.
Most probably, ashWebSv.exe is being blocked by ZoneAlarm.
If this does not work, remove the entry on ZA and try to connect again, allowing the connection when ZA asks.

I see what you mean, ashWebsev hasn’t scanned anything! So it must be ZA.
Tried removing it from the ZA program list, accepted the connection, no joy!

Would it act as a good enough firewall if i closed ZA and just had Avast running?

No, avast is an antivirus not a suite nor a firewall.
Can you browse or see other sites? Is only Google Earth what is being blocked?

Sorry, it’s ok.

I live in Morocco and unfortunatly connected with Maroc Telecom, own by the Govt.
They’ve blocked the servers, bit of para methinks! >:(

Don’t feel you need to answer, it’s not the forum, but, any ideas on how to set-up a proxy connection?

Cheers

shukran bizzef!

Thanks a lot!

You’re welcome. Does it help you?

Yes, I was putting the settings into the LAN setup rather than the dial-up! ::slight_smile:
I normally used Moz FF for internet but IE is needed for google earth.
Working now!
Thanks
