After manually removing v4.8 and installing the managed BP version, I manually excluded some drives and directories in the real time shield. I have now found out after configuring and OK’ing what I have configured, if I go right back to the exclusion screen none of the entries are noted. If I exclude drivemappings in the admin console for the group settings, it is not showing at the client station those drive mappings are excluded either.
Hello,
Exclusions for realtime shields are made on server-side i.e. Administration Console > NETWORK > Group Settings > Expert Settings > avast5://FileSystemShield/FileSystem/ScanException.
Examples:
C:\exampleapp.exe;\*;
The example excludes exampleapp.exe for Read, Write and Execute and also excludes all network drives.
The flags are:
-R - read flag
-W - write flag
-X - execute flag
Multiple entries are separated by semi-colons - ;
Regards
I did make the exclusion for the network drives on the server side - but it does not indicate that on the client side to verify the exclusion exist and the AVAST ball turns like crazy when hitting one of the network drive so it makes me think the exclusion is not working. Also some of the systems have specific software where others don’t and I need to exclude those programs at the client level. Since I have to supply a admin p/w to get into the expert settings to make further exclusions it should hold and honor that exclusion. There are real performance issues with these exclusions not holding. Shouldn’t these exclusion be holding?
